Sample school trip or group tour Itinerary for Uganda 2015

Day 1: Depart UK for Uganda

Depart from school in the early afternoon for our evening flight on Qatar Airlines. We will have a short stopover in Doha early in the morning and will arrive in Entebbe in the early afternoon.

Day 2: Arrive in Entebbe-Kampala

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, we will be met by Msafiri tours representatives. We will drive to Kampala and stay in the Ndere Centre. In the evening we will watch a concert of Ugandan drumming and dancing and have our evening meal there.

Day 3: Kampala-Iganga Suubi Clinic

In the morning we will start the drive to Iganga passing through Mabira forest, the tea and sugar plantations. After a brief stop at Mabira, we will continue through Jinja and over Owen falls dam, where the River Nile produces electricity for Uganda, and then to Iganga.  We will be staying Jennie’s Hotel, Iganga. We will have lunch en route.

In the afternoon we will be taken to Busu and given a guided tour of the village. We will be introduced to the staff at the three project areas; Busu primary school, St Francis Babies Home and the Suubi Medical Clinic. We return to Iganga for dinner.

Day 4: Orphanage/School/Suubi Clinic

After breakfast, you will be taken to the projects. Some people will go to the Local school while others go to Suubi Medical clinic or the orphanage and we will get stuck in right away. Packed lunch will be provided.  Return to Jennie’s Hotel, Iganga, for dinner.

Day 5: Orphanage/School/Suubi Clinic

Spend the whole day at the project, where packed lunch will be provided.  Go back to the Iganga in the evening for dinner.

Day 6: Orphanage/School /Suubi Clinic

Spend the whole day at the project, where packed lunch will be provided.  Go back to Iganga in the evening for dinner. 

Day 7: Orphanage/School /Busu Village

Spend half day at the project, where packed lunch will be provided. In the afternoon we will have a village tour, some workshops in jewelry and basket making and then a cooking with the locals feast extravaganza as our evening meal before we drive to Kampala.  We will be staying in the Ndere Centre, Kampala, again

Day 8: Shopping!

After breakfast, we will go on a Kampala City tour and visit places of interest. Lunch will be in an area of the city called Garden City. We will then go to a local shopping area and visit Crafts Markets to pick up some souvenirs. We will return to the Ndere Centre for our evening meal. An early bedtime will be for all as we have a very EARLY start in the morning.

Day 9: Safari

We will leave Kampala very early in the morning, head to Murchison Falls National Park in the north western part of Uganda. On our way, we will see people doing their day to day activities that help them earn a living. With breakfast and lunch en route, we will arrive in early evening and then have a short tester game drive. Check-in at our accommodation for dinner and overnight at Sambiya River Lodge.

Day 10: Murchison Falls National Park Game Drive

We do an early morning game drive, a good time to see the predators. Other animals to see in this park are warthog, hyena, elephant, Kob and many more.  This game drive will last a minimum of 4 hours; we can choose whether to have our breakfast packed before we leave for the game drive or have it when we come back from the game drive.  Be back to accommodation in time to freshen up and have lunch. We will then go for the boat trip in the afternoon. This will enable us to see Hippos, crocodiles and a lot of bird life.  We will have dinner back at Sambiya River Lodge.   

Day 11: Back to Kampala

This day, we will have a bit of a game drive on our way out of the game park. We will take the scenic route back, taking in the rift valley and other sights. We will pass through the forest. We will reach Kampala in the evening and have our last evening in the Ndere centre. 

Day 12: Departure back to UK

After a relaxing breakfast we will pack everything together and prepare to depart. We will have lunch in the Entebbe Botanical Gardens and have a chance for a couple of hours of relaxation before heading to the airport for our early evening flight. We stop over at Doha for a couple of hours at midnight and then arrive in London EARLY Thursday morning.

Day 13: Arrive back in UK End of service
