The quality of Food and drink in Uganda for travellers has improved enormously over the last decade.
This is mainly due to an increase in the number and quality of specialist producers, improvements in transport, much more widespread use of refrigeration and a huge improvement in the training of kitchen staff.
Hygiene has also massively improved, enabling a much wider range of foods to be served without a corresponding increase in dietary problems
On the whole you can expect food to be somewhere between average to good, occasionally very good. Kampala has more restaurants with a reputation for fine dining and Michelin starred restaurants are available
Special diets such as vegetarian, vegan, kosher and halal can usually be catered for in most locations, but you do need to let us know when making your reservation in order that we can provide those options with sufficient warning.
